Exhaust & non-exhaust emissions: putting transport research & health impacts in perspective

The session will present data from EU funded projects and other experts to shed light on the relative contributions to pollution indicators and the resulting health impacts of the different sources of pollution, in particular from transport. The effects of different types of combustion particles and of brake, road and tyre abrasion will be put in perspective and the ranking in terms of abatement needs will be discussed. Details here:

A general training on the product environmental footprint method

Within the Environmental Footprint (EF) work, the Commission is organising a general webinar that will provide an introduction to the PEF method replying to questions such as what a PEF study is, how such a study can be undertaken or which are the benefits to the users. The European Day of Parks is a commemorative day for Protected Areas across Europe that was launched in 1999 by the EUROPARC Federation to celebrate Protected Areas throughout Europe. It celebrates the creation of the 1st National Parks in Europe – a set of nine parks created in Sweden in 1909.

Webinar: Open Innovation as an opportunity for the energy-water nexus

The reduction of carbon footprint in the energy-water nexus is one of the main challenges of the EU, especially in coastal and island areas where access to water is more difficult. Water treatment plants need to be more efficient, based on renewable energy sources, and apply sustainable technological solutions. EERES4WATER project aims to reduce the environmental impact of the water cycle processes and provide citizens with cheaper and more sustainable access to water.
