The European Investment Fund (EIF) and Banca Comerciala Romana Chisinau (BCRC) signed an InnovFin agreement that will benefit innovative Moldovan small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and small mid-caps.

Facilitarea de garantare InnovFin pentru întreprinderile mici şi mijlocii oferă garanţii şi contra-garanţii privind finanţarea împrumuturilor de la 25 000 EURO la 7,5 milioane EURO pentru a îmbunătăţi accesul la finanţare a întreprinderilor inovative mici şi mijlocii (cu până la 499 angajaţi). Facilitatea este gestionată de FEI şi este implementată prin intermediarii financiari – bănci şi alte instituţii financiare - în statele membre ale UE şi ţările asociate. În cadrul acestei facilităţi, intermediarii financiari sunt asiguraţi de FEI împotriva unei părţi din pierderile lor suportate pentru finanţarea datoriei acoperite prin facilitate.

This report provides an assessment of whether alternative finance has the potential to help Europe address the problem of access to finance for innovative companies and bridge the gap in terms of access to risk capital, and if EU action is needed to support development of the sector. To this aim, the study produced the following results: 1) an estimation of the size of the alternative market for research and innovation, together with a typology of sectors and of alternative finance funding models suitable for research vs.
