The event has 2 sessions: InnoApps Hackathon – Pitch Your App! and Urban Smart – App Life or City Life?, followed by an award ceremony where the best app receives 20 000 EUR.
‘InnoApps Hackathon – Pitch Your App!’ is an exciting pitching competition featuring the six best innovative apps for smart cities, created for InnoApps Hackathon by young developers. The finalists were chosen from applicants in a two-stage selection process, developed their app ideas in virtual teams and are coming for a two day hackathon to Brussels prior to the Final.
‘Urban Smart – App Life or City Life?’ will discuss the future vision of fully interconnected cities where apps play an ever increasing role in everyday life and the opportunities this offers to young people, startups, SMEs and society at large. In this context, InnoApps is a practical example of efforts to make cities smarter by encouraging youth to create apps that treat cities as living entities of knowledge.
The panel session discusses the future vision of fully interconnected cities with Eva Paunova (MEP), Collete Maloney (Head of Unit, DG CONNECT), Robin Wauters (tech.eu) and others. At the award ceremony the best app creators will receive a total of 35 000 EUR. The InnoApps is a joint initiative of EYIF and Huawei, and with the support of our partners, AIESEC and Pinch.
Register for InnoApps Hackathon Final on February 4th at Bibliothèque Solvay.
