This workshop has following objectives:1. Discuss how the available EU programmes and instruments can help cities and regions launch large-scale investments in energy eciency of buildings and in the heating and cooling sector. 2. Show how EU nancial instruments can be used to support energy eciency in existing buildings through project development assistance and to nance the investments borne by Energy Performance Contracting providers (‘ESCOs’) through loans and guarantees in combination with grants. 3. Illustrate how the ESI funds have been used to create nancial instruments to support the deployment of sustainable heating and cooling infrastructure projects. 4.
