Strengthening Participation in FET
FET (Future & Emerging Technologies) is the incubator and pathfinder for new ideas and themes for long-term research in the area of information and communication technologies. Its mission is to promote high risk research, offset by potential breakthrough with high technological or societal impact.
FET has been one of the most successful parts of the Framework Programme in the past. But in order to continue and expand its success also in the future, it will be important to strengthen broad participation from Europe’s scientists and researchers. It will be imperative to build strong European partnerships fostering excellence in Future and Emerging Technologies.
With this objective in mind, the final conference of the FET2020 event series “The Future of the Future” will take place on June 25-26 in Budapest. The interactive conference aims to provide the EC and other stakeholders with strategic input and a set of potential actions on how to maximize participation from all relevant actors, strengthen partnerships and thus maximize the impact of visionary and long-term research into future and emerging technologies.
The event will be held at the Hungarian Academy of Sciences in connection with:
- Horizon 2020 FET Open and FET HPC Information Day
- Consortium Building Event
The COFET project is supporting the FET scheme by facilitating a focused dialogue between science, policy, and industry. This will be realised through a series of three conferences addressing current and forthcoming challenges for interdisciplinary, visionary research as exemplified in the FET programme within Horizon 2020. The event is supported by the FET and Flagship units of the European Commission, DG CONNECT.
Participation for day 2 is free of charge but places are limited at this event.
