The Gold Open Access pilot funding instrument is now open for collecting funding requests to support the publication in Open Access of research results from finished FP7 projects (“post-grant”). Launched by the European Commission, the pilot is being implemented in the context of the OpenAIRE2020 project, and is aligned with the Open Access infrastructure and support network provided by OpenAIRE.
The European Commission recently launched a Pilot to fund Open Access publications for finalized FP7 projects through the OpenAIRE project. The objective is to improve the access to the research results of FP7 projects.
The web service for collecting and processing funding requests for the EC/FP7 post-grant Gold Open Access Pilot is now available and will answer the needs of various target audiences:
- Researchers: request funding through a guided process
- Project Coordinators: see funding opportunities and monitor project results
- Institutions: claim funding on behalf of your researchers, monitor your institution’s FP7 post-grant traffic
- Publishers: deliver information on APCs, manage invoices, monitor journal FP7 post-grant traffic
Researchers, or institutions on their behalf, can request funding for their OA publicatons arising from finished FP7 projects that meet the eligibility requirements described in the Pilot policy guidelines, and monitor their request to the very end.
