The Future and Emerging Technologies (FET) Open call for Coordination and Support Actions (CSA) includes a new topic under the Horizon 2020 WP2016-17: the Innovation Launchpad. What is it for and how can you participate in this call?
The FET Innovation Launchpad (ILP) aims to take FET research closer to the society and the market. By their very nature – foundational, novel, high-risk, interdisciplinary – FET-funded projects have the potential to create many innovative social and economic opportunities. Not all of those promising ideas can however be taken-up under the original project.
This is where the Innovation Launchpad comes in. It will take-up those ideas from FET funded projects and explore their possible social and market applications. Ultimately it aims at stimulating entrepreneurial mind-set in the FET research world. Participants of ongoing or recently finished FET projects under FP7 or H2020 are invited to apply to ILP.
The first cut-off date is 29/09/2016, with a budget of €1.2M. There will be a second cut-off date on 27/09/2017, with a budget of €1.8M. The Commission considers that proposals for actions no longer than 18 months and requesting a EU contribution of up to €0.1M would allow this specific challenge to be addressed appropriately.
The FET Innovation Launchpad topic will be opened for proposals submission on 1 March 2016. More information is available on the Participant Portal and a dedicated Information Day will be organised (in April 2016, tbc).
