SC1-PHE-CORONAVIRUS-2020-2C - Behavioural, social and economic impacts of the outbreak response
Seeking to become part of a consortium on impact of the COVID-19 outbreak.
My expertise is in emotion regulation and motivation in different contexts and situations throughout development, including but not limited to school settings. I am interested in looking at children, youth, or adults. Aligned with the call topics, I can contribute toward integration of aspects related to improving resilience, well-being and mental health to contribute to better understanding and effectiveness of preparedness and response. I can propose and deploy evidence-based policy
measures to improve society’s and industry’s adaptation capacity and resilience. Looking at these
both for younger and older individuals, whether in social isolation or as essential workers such as medical personnel.
I can contribute conceptually, methodologically, and in terms of data collection, data processing, and data management.
I have a number of Corona-related studies using online questionnaires at different stages of writing, data processing and analysis. Insights from these may be used for our collaboration.
More specifically, my program of research is focused on how emotions and our knowledge about emotion (metaemotion) shape and influence what we do, how we do it, and what we understand. To this end, I have projects focused on emotions, cognitions, and behaviors and learning in formal and informal learning settings across development. I also look at how others (teacher, parent, peers or mentor) influence these processes of self-regulation and motivation through direct interaction or by constructing the environment.
I have much experience being part of multi-disciplinary teams, and am currently head of such a team that is local to Israel – Consortium on Youth/Children in Prolonged Crisis. I am also a member of the National Knowledge and Research Center for Emergency Readiness. I bring with me these connections and experiences.
I am happy to take an active part in writing and data collection, data processing and analyses.
