Priorities for science and innovation policy: opportunities, structures and investment

Description: 

Timed to examine the new Government's plans for UK science and innovation policy, and informed by the House of Lords Science and Technology Committee's inquiry on Priorities for science, this seminar will bring together key stakeholders from the academic community and R&D-intensive industries with policymakers.

Following the Coalition Government's focus on 'eight great technologies', delegates will discuss how public funding priorities for science should be decided into the future and how to encourage further private sector investment into UK R&D - as well as the implementation and record so far of the Science and Innovation Strategy, announced following the 2014 Autumn Statement. 

Further sessions consider more widely latest opportunities for UK universities and business to collaborate on the commercialisation of emerging technologies.
